Hugh Futrell and Bill Carle Head Team Selected to Renovate the Former AT&T Building in Downtown Santa Rosa. Hugh Futrell and Bill Carle are pleased to announce that their team has been selected by the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa Rosa to be the developer of the ATT redevelopment project. The Futrell/Carle entity is Museum on the Square, LLC. The City’s Redevelopment Agency purchased the AT&T building in March 2007. The building was constructed in two phases in 1972 and 1975, and at one point employed 220 people daily. The building was effectively abandoned in 1993. “Museum on the Square” in part takes its name from the team’s proposed main ground floor use, a changing contemporary art space to be owned and operated by the Sonoma County Museum as an adjunct to its existing Museum on Seventh Street. Although other elements of the proposal remain to be finalized after a collaborative process with the City and outreach to downtown stakeholders, Futrell and Carle included in their response to the RFQ a detailed illustrative project demonstrating the kind of project the team was capable of producing even in difficult economic times.
